Eastham
Eastham, one of the original four settlements on Cape Cod, is located on the Outer Cape and provides a glimpse of the Cape's pristine beauty. Although secluded from commercial and suburban areas, it is conveniently situated near popular Cape Cod attractions such as the ferry service to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket, whale watching tours, and Hyannis Port. Eastham is home to Cape Cod's oldest functioning windmill, built in the 1680s, and many historic buildings, museums, and districts.
Wellfleet
Wellfleet, with over 70 percent of its landscape covered in oak and pine forests, is a charming town that combines its heritage as an old whaling port and modern fishing village with its status as a cultural haven. Its narrow peninsula offers only a fleeting glimpse of its natural beauty on the drive to town. Designated one of the state's Cultural Districts in 2017, the walkable downtown is home to a variety of galleries, bookstores, and boutiques in historic residences, and a restored church serves as the town's community cultural center.
Truro
Apart from the gorgeous homes constructed on the hills and a narrow stretch of small motels and cottages, there is a dearth of commercial development in this area, rendering it a serene and rural setting filled with moors, hills, valleys, and rivers, where residences are tucked away amid trees. The town's commerce mainly comprises a limited number of gourmet markets, restaurants, cafes, and galleries. This idyllic village is regarded as the Cape's most peaceful community, attracting vacationers and residents such as writers, artists, politicians, and those seeking a simpler lifestyle.
Provincetown
Located at the tip of Cape Cod's great sandy curve, Provincetown, the outermost community, has welcomed Native Americans, explorers, Pilgrims, fishermen, whalers, artists, beach lovers, and pleasure-seekers. The town's lively Commercial Street is lined with a variety of shops, boutiques, galleries, inns, and restaurants. Provincetown is renowned for its diverse and eclectic entertainment offerings, attracting A-list talent to this section of the Cape.
